Computer Viruses Are A Problem For Everyone
Computer viruses are the largest cause of computer related problems today. nwark.net scans all email to detect and remove viruses before they are transmitted to your computer. While this helps prevent the spread of viruses via email, it is no substitute for a good virus-scanning program being installed on your computer.
Over the years, we have tried and tested many virus scanning programs. While the installation of any virus-scanning software is a great idea, we recommend Computer Associates eTrust Antivirus. eTrust Antivirus does not require the annual subscription renewals often associated with virus-scanning software. Once you purchase the eTrust Antivirus product, you will continue to receive virus signature updates for the life of the software.
The ability to continue getting virus signature updates is very important. If you do not update your virus signatures on a regular basis, the virus-scanning software will become ineffective over time. If you have high-speed Internet access, we recommend updating your signature files daily.

SPAM The Worst Problem On The Internet
SPAM is not only a nuisance to anyone who receives email, it is the biggest waste of bandwidth on the Internet. nwark.net scans all email for suspected SPAM, before the messages are placed in your mailbox. Since July 26, 2005 our SPAM filters have removed 306,152 email messages suspected of being SPAM. You may have noticed a reduction in the amount of SPAM you received over the last month. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to filter out all SPAM. If we were to attempt to remove more SPAM from the system, the risk of deleting a valid (important) message would be too great. If you are still be inundated with SPAM, we recommend you install some SPAM filtering software on your computer. Microsoft has a very effective SPAM (JunkMail) filter integrated into their Outlook 2003 product.

Pre-Wire
With all the new commercial construction being done in Northwest Arkansas, many people assume their general contractor will provide everything necessary for their computer network. While some contractor do provide for computer networks, this is not normal. Most contractors simply provide some conduit and assume the owner will provide everything for the low-voltage cable. On most projects, the truth about the low-voltage cable is not learned until the project is near completion. Delaying the installation of low-voltage cable can become quite costly as ceilings, walls, parking lots and such are completed. The best time to have your low-voltage cable installed is when the building framing is completed. It is also wise to have someone familiar with computer networks review your building plans before construction begins.
nwark.net can help with all your low-voltage cabling (computer, phone, video and sound) needs from the planning stage to pre-wire and additions.
